Backup QB’s – The New England Patriots have Brian Hoyer as their backup to Tom Brady. Because Brady won’t play long it will essentially be Hoyer’s game. He’s been pretty good in relief of Brady in the preseason so the New England Patriots are not hopeless. After Eli Manning leaves the game on Thursday, the New York Giants have a big difficulty. Their backup is Jim Sorgi yet he’s been hurt. It’s been third-string quarterback Rhett Bomar who’s been gaining most of the action. He does not genuinely give you much confidence. You have to worry about Bomar playing poorly, though you could like to make your bet on the New York Giants in this game versus the Football preseason lines. It is feasible that Sorgi will return for this game and since Sorgi will want to play well to make sure he still has the backup quarterback job, and that could be good news for New York.
